Michelangelo Frammartino – Cagliari
Italian contemporary director among the most esteemed out of the country, started on theatrical screen with the film “Il dono” (2003) presented at the International Festival International, after that follows “Le quattro volte” (2010), presented at Cannes Festival.
It has been in nomination among the five best foreign film at the 32nd edition of London Critics’ Circle Film Awards 2012, together with “La piel que habito” by Pedro Almodóvar, “Mistérios de Lisboa” by Raoul Ruiz, “Jodaeiye Nader az Simin” by Asghar Farhadi and “Poetry” by Chang-dong Lee.
Michelangelo Frammartino was born in 1968, in Milan, its parents are from original from Calabria. While studying Architecture at Milan Politecnico he develops a special sensibility on the relation between concrete/structured spaces and the image, both cinematographic, photographic and video. During the studies’ years he realises short-movies, film scenography, music videos, video-performances and independent film.He also starts to teach visual arts to very young people. Since 2005 he teaches Direction at Bergamo University.
